Parana Pine For Sale

Being a joinery workshop much of the timber we use is hidden, painted or from a few very popular species that gets used a lot. Nothing worng in that, it's the way it is, some species are always popular and in plentiful supply. However we do often get pieces mixed in that are very interesting. Sometimes it's a plank that comes in that has a really interesting grain pattern or what might be deemed a "defect" or some wood that we reclaim from an old piece of joinery. A nice exampe of what can be done with interesting pieces is some try squares I made from a niece piece of beech with some lovely colour variation.

Which leads me to a first. As much as I like to hoard interesting bits of wood (and I still will), I thought I'd try to offer some interesting pieces for sales. I have a few bits of Parana Pine listed on ebay as a start and I have some more of it to list, along with a few other nice bits of other species should there be any interest. Parana Pine is an interesting timber, it's not a true "Pine" and found favour for stair making and projects requiring very clear long sections. It's brittle but can look very interesting if it has colour flashes, reminds me a bit of sand dunes. Please be aware it is reclaimed and importing this wood is illegal as it is a protected species. I have tried to make any defects obvious. If you do want to view or collect in person you'd be welcome, just call before leaving and I'm not here at weekends or evenings.
