CUSTOM MADE OAK EXTERIOR DOORS

These are a set of very attractive solid oak doors we recently made for a client. We make all of our solid doors individually to customer size and requirements. We are not limited by ‘off the shelf’ designs or types of timber. If you have something in mind, we can make it. These external oak doors are a robust 56mm thick for strength and beauty. 

Working with the client we selected "From The Anvil" ironmongery and installed all of it into the doors so they have all been hung, checked and ready to use the moment they arive on site. This approach saves times and allows for consistency as we can undertake the work in the controlled conditions of our workshop rather than being exposed to the ellements on site.

These oak doors are finished coated with Osmo UV Resistant Oil. This coating is easy to maintain and allows the beauty of the oak to evolve over time. 

The oak used to make these doors is all "air dried". This ensures the oak it at the correct moisture content for external joinery. Using cheaper "kiln dried" oak leads to a more unstable item of joinery. We find that kiln dried oak is more suitable for interior projects.

Although having some unique oak doors made for you does take a little more time than some other solutuons they can really set of a property well. Oak has a timeless quality that looks great in many setting both old and new.
